Located on the Greek, Macedonian and Albanian border, Prespa Lake has an area of 285 km2, from which 38.8 km2 belong to Albania.

The National Park of Prespa consists of areas from all the three countries, including the lakes of Prespa Major and Prespa Minor, as well as their reservoir basin.
In the Albanian side, the tiny island of Maligrad houses an eremite Saint Mary Church from the 14th century, which was built into the rock.
